Got the rims and other bits back from R&R. Came out sweet, thanks again to Roger and his lad over there. Ordered some stainless spokes from Central Wheels – this place is the shit when it comes to knowing their spokes and after a quick phone exactly what I needed was on the way even though I didn’t know exactly what I needed if ya knows what I’m sayin… The front wheel went together easy – using a harley rim and a triumph twin leading hub and knowing my luck I thought I was bound for hard times. I did have to drill all the eyelets a tad but that was it. Super happy with the finished article and once I had sweated, sworn and stamped the Avon Speedmaster on I was beamin….
The rear wheel was a different story… coz I’m a massive bell-end… and thought I’d had an 18″ rim powder coated….
When I held up the spokes they were obviously too small and I naturally considered getting on the phone for a right moan to Central Wheels but after scratching my head I realised it was actually a 19″ rim I’d had painted… Eeeejit! Did I bother measuring it before I had it painted and ordered matching spokes?! Did I shite… Fair bit more swearing and a quick look on fleabay later and I got an 18 on the way.
The forks are in with R&R having the spindle clamps braised, drilled and retapped as the threads were totally fubar. I got an old petrol tank on the way and saving pennies for a rear guard, some fork covers and maybe an oil bag from Barons Speed Shop.

Heehey! Didn’t see you’d put this up here bro. Man, last few weeks have been crazy looking after the kid and working. Madness. After building it up I realised the forks are about 2 years too early for the hub and so too narrow… GUTTED. So now looking for some correct year forks.. or hub… It’s the little things that take most time… Hope you’re good fella. Drop in soon or giz a ding if you’re headin out for a blast on the scoot!!
